Cuarteto Marcano is a Puerto Rican group founded by Pedro “Piquito” Marcano in New York City in 1936. With Marcano on lead vocals, the quartet features Claudio Ferrer on second voice and second guitar, Leocadio “Lalo” Martinez on first guitar, and Vitín Mercado on trumpet. Cuarteto Marcano was one of the most popular Latin groups of the 1930s and 1940s in New York.
